The Andante from Bach's "Italian Concerto" for solo keyboard transcribed for flute and clarinet duo. Its solo line is taken first by the flute, and then given over equally to the clarinet in the second half. The accompanimental figures continue throughout with their two low bass heartbeats preceded by four climbing or descending scalewise notes that allow the solo line to float poignantly and searchingly above.
