Antonio Fraioli (born in Sabaudia, Province of Latina – Lazio Region, Italy 1966) accomplished his musical studies of Clarinet and Jazz at the "Ottorino Respighi" Conservatoire in Latina under the guidance of Prof.Giuseppe Magliocca (1982 – 1986), Prof.Mauro Zazzarini (1994 – 1998) and Prof.Francesco Belli (2004 – 2007) and submitting a thesis on Bebop. Between 1988 and 1991 he joined the specialization courses led by Prof. Antony Pay in Sermoneta (Province of Latina – Lazio Region) and at the Accademia Superiore Internazionale di Musica "Lorenzo Perosi" in Biella (Piemonte Region, Italy). He attended a two-year postgraduate course titled Music at "Tor Vergata" University in Rome and another postgraduate course titled Donne, Politica ed Istituzioni (Women, Politics and Institutions) at "Sapienza" University in Rome, submitting a thesis on Le pari opportunità nel mondo della musica (Equal Opportunities in the Music World). In 1994 he was awarded a single first prize among the wind instrumentalists in the third Edition of T.I.M. – Torneo Internazionale di Musica (an international competition that takes place every year in a different European city) and passed the national selection to become a Professor in the Italian Conservatoires, teaching Musica d'insieme per strumenti a fiato(Music for Wind Ensembles). He performs regularly in Italy as well as abroad (Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, US, Canada) both as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles. He recorded for Edipan, EurArte, Duchesne Liegi (Belgium), Agenda Edizioni Musicali, AFM Roma, and played for Radio Vaticana and Radio Nacional de Espana. His performances have been also broadcast by WOMR Radio (US). As a soloist, together with the Coro di Clarinetti del Lazio (Clarinet Choir of Lazio Region), he recorded for the first time the version for Clarinet and ensemble of Clarinets edited by Antonino Conti of the Concert in B-flat major by Saverio Mercadante. He has written compositions, transcriptions, revisions and arrangements that have been performed and recorded on CDs and DVDs in Italy, US, Canada, England, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Turkey, Spain, Greece and Colombia, which have been published by Edizioni Musicali Eufonia, L'Oca del Cairo, Ut Orpheus Edizioni and EurArte. He is full Professor of Music for Wind Ensembles at the "Giuseppe Martucci" Conservatoire in Salerno (Campania Region) and has been holding several masterclasses and lectures in Italy, Germany, Austria, Belgium and Spain. He is also the author and the presenter of several TV and radio programmes dedicated to music. Antonio Fraioli plays ORSI clarinets.
